Type 2
Diabetes:
A research study with a pharmaceutical company evaluating the effects of an
investigational drug for Type 2 Diabetes is being conducted. You must be:
-
be between the ages of
18 and 80
-
have been treated for
type 2 diabetes with one or more anti-diabetic medications including oral
agents, Exenatide (Byetta), or Pramlintide (Symlin)
-
have NOT used insulin to
control their diabetes
-
are not a smoker

Osteoarthritis:
There may be a new pain medication for Osteoarthritis. If you have low
back, hip, or knee pain from Osteoarthritis, you may qualify for a clinical
research study of an investigational pain medication. Participants will
receive at no cost, study related:

Physical exams
-
Laboratory tests
-
Pain medication

Osteoarthritis:
Bothered by Arthritis? Concerned about Heart Disease? We are conducting a
research study of 3 approved medications commonly used to treat pain due to
osteoarthrits (OA) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in people who also have or
are at high risk for heart disease. Qualified participants will receive
study-related medical care, regular study check-ups, and study medication at
no charge. To qualify you must:

Be 18 years of age or
older
-
Have had osteoarthritis
or rheumatoid arthritis for your pain for at leats 6 months
-
Have or be at high risk
for heart disease, which includes a history of heart attack, stroke, or
diabetes

1. CAPSS-272: The
purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability, and safety
during the first month of treatment of monotherapy Topamax versus Dilantin
in subjects with seizure indicative of new onst epilepsy.
2. LAM
30055: This is a double-blind study of 2 doses of Lamictal (250 or 300
mg/day.) The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the safety and
effectiveness of a lower monotherapy dose than the currently approved 500
mg/day.
3. Pfizer
A9010012: The goal of this study is to collect cross-sectional blood and
urine samples from cognitively normal subjects who are matched by gender,
age, ethnicity and geography to the demographic data associated with
previously collected AlzheimeraCs Disease bio-fluid samples. This study
consists of one phone call and a one day study visit with neuropsychiatric
and cognition tests.

vs. OTHER (Mobic, etc.) in patients with chronic osteoarthritis requiring
daily NSAID treatment. Patients must not be allergic to Sulfa.
2. Testosterone
gel vs. Placebo in Hypogonadal males.
3.
Actos plus
Glucophage vs. Glucophage plus a new DPP4-inhibitor in patients with
uncontrolled diabetes.
4. Observational
trial involving uncontrolled hypertensives where they receive a home blood
pressure monitor to monitor their own blood pressure to see if they can
acheive better control when they have the ability to monitor their own blood
pressures.
