Hiring and Retaining Top Performing Employees—Fundamentals of Practice Success

 

Your staff forms the backbone of your organization, and having the right staff is the fundamental requirement of attaining practice success.  Using the knowledge of an experienced practice administrator, this session covers assessing the impact of having the right staff, interviewing to hire the best talent; keeping good people after you have hired them, preventing staff members from losing their edge, and maintaining harmony and discipline.

Speaker Bio - David Shaw

 

 

 

David Shaw, Manager, a 25-year veteran of business management and recruiting, spearheads Coker’s Executive Recruiting efforts, working with Coker’s clients to find the right candidates for their organizations.

 

Most recently, Mr. Shaw served as COO of The Corban Group, a recruiting firm in Atlanta, where he helped re-engineer the firm’s executive search product while managing the company’s day-to-day operations.  He also expanded Corban’s offering’s to include recruitment process out-sourcing (RPO) and staffing and developed a client-focused delivery system.

 

Prior to his tenure at The Corban Group, Mr. Shaw was Vice President and Director of Development at HCCA International Nurse Staffing in Nashville, TN.  There he created and implemented a marketing plan for the firm in addition to securing over $110 million in contracts.

 

He has held various other senior– and executive-level management positions throughout his career, including 11 years as Senior Vice President and Director of Recruiting for Jackson and Coker, Inc, an Atlanta-based recruitment firm.  There he oversaw the recruitment of over 200 physicians per year for hospitals and group practices.  Mr. Shaw managed the entire recruitment practice for the company, from the procuring of search contracts to the fulfillment of positions.

 

Mr. Shaw obtained his B.B.A. from Harding University.
